A Little About The Brenda Marie Foundation
Our mission is “To assist individuals in overcoming commuting costs and difficulties associated with visiting those loved ones infirmed in medical facilities.”
We were founded to honor the life of Brenda Marie Whitley, who passed away in 2010 from acute myeloid leukemia. After discussing with the family about the hardships during treatment a cost that was often overlooked was the traveling cost. With food, lodging, gas, tolls, the immediate out of pocket cost adds up very quickly causing additional stress on these families.

"This foundation has truly given me hope, when I thought hope was lost. I am forever grateful and thankful to the Brenda Marie Foundation, for helping my family more than once during our time of need."
We believe that families and individuals with a loved one in the hospital have enough to worry about. If we are able to help cover the expenses of travel for the patient and visiting loved ones it would alleviate stress and help more people be able to visit the patient. Cash, gift certificates, gas cards, and other needed donations will be given to help cover costs such as fuel, food, parking, and overnight stays. We believe that having loved ones close by in times of need is the best medicine.
But, we need your help in order to keep making this a reality. Donating is easy and will take only a couple of moments of your time, and will make a huge difference to people seeking our assistance. Please consider making a donation today.
We are an approved 501 (c) (3) Foundation Under Public Charity Status 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi). This means all donations to us are tax Deductible to you!

"The BMF helped lessen the financial burden when I was faced with staying away from home while my husband was in the hospital for surgery. It reduced my stress related to my hotel stay, helping me better focus my attention on my husband's recovery. The BMF was a blessing that I am greatly thankful for. "
